RTCS considers athletics and team play to be an integral part of the development of the whole person, as the Word of God calls us to develop the mind, soul, and body. While sports are typically thought of as developing the body, they also assist in the development of character. Participation in sports teaches accountability and responsibility. In addition, it teaches reliance on one another as Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12; we are many parts, but one body.
Each student-athlete at RTCS has different gifts and abilities that are to be used for the good of the body. However, the emphasis on sports does not overshadow the academics of RTCS, as teachers and coaches work together to provide a balance between athletics and academics.
RTCS is proud of our varsity soccer program that includes male and female student-athletes from grades 7–12. The RTCS Rams compete in the Southwest Christian Athletic Conference (SWCAC) against other member schools in southwest Pennsylvania. In 2014, the Rams were privileged to lift the SWCAC championship trophy, and fell one game short of the championship in 2015. In 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 the Rams made it to the playoffs.
In 2022, the RTCS Rams completed an undefeated season where they won the SWCAC championship!
